Re-establishment of the Biology of Infection Unit; new Sequence Bioinformatics Unit

•    Re-establishment of the Biology of Infection Unit

Following the favorable opinion issued by the Scientific Council in June 2024, in October 2024 the Board of Governors approved the proposal by the President to re-establish the Biology of Infection Unit, keeping the same name, as from November 1, 2024.
 
This unit within the Department of Cell Biology and Infection will be led by Marc Lecuit.
 
The unit has been re-established for a ten-year period with an interim assessment by the Scientific Council after a first five-year term.

•    New Sequence Bioinformatics Unit

The Sequence Bioinformatics five-year group (021440), led by Rayan Chikhi, came to the end of its term and was closed on October 31, 2024.

Following the favorable opinion issued by the Scientific Council in June 2024, in October 2024 the Board of Governors approved the proposal by the President to establish the Sequence Bioinformatics Unit as from November 1, 2024.

This unit in the Department of Computational Biology will be led by Rayan Chikhi.

The unit has been established for a ten-year period with an interim assessment by the Scientific Council after a first five-year term.
