Preview screening of the documentary "The Incredible Story of The Bacteria Killers" on October 15

A hundred years ago, French microbiologist Félix d'Hérelle discovered the existence of bacteriophages, mysterious "bacteria-eating" viruses. Largely forgotten for decades and hidden behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, bacteriophages are now making a comeback. As more and more antibiotics are proving to be ineffective in tackling increasingly resistant bacteria, could phage therapy be the medical miracle of the future?

The Institut Pasteur and Ladybirds Films are delighted to invite you to a preview screening of the film directed by Jean Crépu, "L'incroyable histoire des tueurs de bactéries" (The Incredible Story of The Bacteria Killers) on Tuesday October 15, 2019, at 7pm in the CIS auditorium.

The 52-minute documentary will be broadcast on Arte on November 2 at 10.20pm.

A cocktail reception will be held after the screening. This is a great opportunity to continue the discussion with Philippe Glaser, Head of the Ecology and Evolution of Antibiotic Resistance Unit, and Laurent Debarbieux, from the Molecular Biology of the Gene in Extremophiles Unit, two Institut Pasteur scientists who are featured in the film.

We hope that as many of you as possible will take advantage of the exclusive opportunity to see the film before it is broadcast!

Entry is free but prior registration is required; please email resa@ladybirdsfilms.fr.
