A look back at the French National Science Festival

During the weekend of October 4 to 6, the Institut Pasteur's association for young scientists, StaPa, took part in the French National Science Festival at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie.

During the national event, 14 PhD students and 6 postdoctoral fellows manned a scientific outreach stand entitled "Seeing the invisible: how do scientists investigate microbes?".

The stand featured two interactive spaces, one where people could visualize microbes under the microscope and with the naked eye on Petri dishes, and another with a DNA extraction experiment, giving the public an insight into the ways in which scientists study the living world.

The weekend gave rise to lively discussions and was an opportunity for the scientists to share their passion for science, to the delight of visitors of all ages.
