The theme for this year's Scientific Symposium of the Institut Pasteur International Network, which took place from October 14 to 16, 2015, was "Global Health and One Health". The 710 participants focused their attention on the issues surrounding the development of a global approach to health research.
On October 13, a conference was held at the Institut Pasteur in honor of Françoise Barré-Sinoussi. The event looked back over her outstanding scientific career.
Sanofi has renewed its commitment to the Institut Pasteur for the fourth year running by sponsoring the Sanofi-Institut Pasteur Awards, which each year are presented to world-class scientists in recognition of their innovative work in life science and biomedical research.
At its session on October 5, the Board of Directors appointed Gérard Eberl, a professor at the Institut Pasteur, as Director of the Department of Immunology, with effect from October 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016.
The next lecture organized by the Scientific Council - "From chemical glycobiology and peptide chemistry to innovative vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostic tools" - will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015.

The first round of elections for members of the Works Council and staff representatives will take place from November 26 to December 2, 2015. Electronic voting system is introduced this year. The manager delegation system has new features and offers the possibility of granting validation rights on a unit as well as a project basis.
Last weekend, the 2015 "Défi Run" obstacle course took place in Paris in partnership with Assu 2000, which has chosen to support and promote the work of the Institut Pasteur.
