Education

Call for MOOC proposals

In the context of a new strategy for education, the Institut Pasteur is promoting the development of digital teaching, especially MOOCs (Massive Open on-line courses). The future of MOOCs is difficult to predict; however, they enable higher education institutions to reach an unprecedented number of students.

MOOCs also constitute a teaching tool with very diverse applications: they can be used as course units, but also as a small preparatory theoretical course, before in-class courses focused on practical works.

To respond to this strategy, the Institut Pasteur has started to create its own MOOCs; after a MOOCs on “Concepts and methods in epidemiology”, the Institut Pasteur has created two new MOOCs, respectively on Vaccinology and on Neuroscience.

The Institut Pasteur wishes to develop its offer of MOOCs, in close partnership with the Institut Pasteur international network. A recording studio dedicated to MOOCs will be built within the Institut Pasteur (Roux Pavilion), in the context of the extension of the International Teaching Center and should open its doors in autumn 2017. MOOCs of the Institut Pasteur are currently realized in partnership with the CNAM (a continuing education organization based in France) under excellent conditions. Funding and logistics will be taken care of by the Education Department.

Should you be interested in this program, we invite you to contact Monica Sala, Executive Director for Education and/or Dominique Franco, Education Adviser, to discuss the conditions of realization of your project.
