Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
Research projects can require reuse of human biological samples and data related to these samples, whether they come from biobanks, treatments or a previous study.
Reuse for scientific purposes follows highly specific regulations, and a good understanding of these is important to anticipate all the procedures and formalities imposed by the legislation and meet the requirements of funding bodies and publishers.
To help guide you in ensuring the compliance of your research projects and limit the related risks, the Institut Pasteur has adopted a dedicated internal organizational setup and specific processes.
If you think you may be involved in projects that comes under this category, whether you are an engineer, PhD student, postdoctoral fellow, scientist or head of unit, the Legal Affairs Department is running a practical session on Monday November 25, 2024, from 9am to 12:30pm (in person only). You will be notified of the venue following the registration process.
The aim of the training is twofold:
(1) improve knowledge of, and facilitate access to, the applicable regulations
(2) identify the processes in place at the Institut Pasteur to enable reuse of human biological samples and related data in research projects.
A presentation of the regulations, issues and processes applicable at the Institut Pasteur will be followed by a series of practical scenarios and discussions with the departments involved in project support.
