Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
This summer, the "Vivons Vélo" event took place once again on the Institut Pasteur campus. Keen cyclists and all those committed to the cause showed their support by taking part in the seventh edition of this sporting challenge.
Several of you came along to push those pedals over three weeks and clock up the kilometers in the François Jacob building. And many Pasteurians rose to the individual and team challenges set each week to liven up the campaign, with the aim of beating the total distance covered in 2017. The target was easily met – together you cycled a whopping 1,000km further than last year!
The addition of a third bicycle facilitated these efforts, resulting in an impressive total of 2,824km – which will be converted into euros in aid of the Institut Pasteur's research.
To thank all those who generously gave their calf muscles a workout to support the cause, a prize draw was held on October 16, in The 25, attended by Jean-François Chambon, Vice-President Communications and Fundraising. At this enjoyable event, the winners were presented with their prizes, which included cycling accessories as well as a voucher for an introduction to BMX at the prestigious national velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, one of the venues for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games – a memorable experience for one lucky winner!
Keen cyclists can already start gearing up for the 2019 edition. Why not set up some interdepartmental challenges for next year's edition?
In the meantime, well done and many thanks to 2018's cycling stars! Congratulations to Odile Godard who run 445km !!
