Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
The Inception project was set up in response to the arrival of big data in biology. The aim is to create synergies between different areas of expertise (biology, medicine, informatics, mathematics, statistics, physics and social sciences), paving the way for the development of innovative solutions that address the global challenge of disease emergence, for both populations and individuals.
The INCEPTION Convergence Institute is organizing its 6th annual meeting on November 24 and 25 at the Institut Pasteur, in the auditorium of the François Jacob building. The two-day event will focus on the projects launched in connection with INCEPTION that draw on integrative biology, social sciences, big data, etc. to tackle disease emergence. It will feature the following keynote speakers:
- Erica Charters, from the University of Oxford, who will give a lecture on the topic "How do epidemics end?"
- Alexander Pritzel, from DeepMind, who will speak about AlphaFold, the artificial intelligence system that is revolutionizing biology research.
The meeting is free but prior registration is required by November 17 at the latest.
