Ready, set, go! The virtual 2020 "20km de Paris" race in support of the Institut Pasteur gets under way

The 2020 edition of the "20km de Paris" race, the 42nd in the event's history, has just got under way!

Although the health crisis led to the cancellation of many sports events at a very early stage, the organizers of this prestigious challenge were determined for the race to go ahead in a virtual format starting on Thursday October 8.

As announced previously, to encourage the Institut Pasteur's employees to take part, the organizers offered 60 free entries to form an Institut Pasteur team that would run for Pasteurdon.

Forty-seven staff members volunteered for this unique new sporting challenge. The race started yesterday and continues until Sunday, giving the Institut Pasteur's runners plenty of time to invest their energy and endurance for the cause! They will each complete their 20km on urban pavements, forest trails, country paths or sandy beaches – and they will all be linked via an online system to measure the distance covered, perfectly in sync with Pasteurdon.

We wish them the very best of luck! Check out next week's newsletter for the results.
