Blood drive on the Institut Pasteur campus on September 15

The French Blood Service (EFS) will be running a blood drive on Tuesday September 15, from 10am to 2.30pm, in modules 1 and 2 under the social building.

There is an ongoing need for blood products for emergency relief and surgery and to treat blood disorders, cancer and other conditions, and the demand has grown sharply over the past 15 years – 10,000 people have to give blood each day to meet the needs of the EFS.

Your long-term commitment is vital and really makes a difference. By giving blood, you can save lives.

Becoming a blood donor is a generous, selfless and community-minded act. Your blood donations help treat a million people every year. No product can replace human blood.

You can give blood if:

•    you are between 18 and 70 years of age,
•    you weigh at least 50kg.

Anybody can give blood subject to certain conditions that are explained during the prior confidential medical appointment.

Proof of ID is requested for first-time donors. We would recommend that you don't give blood on an empty stomach.

Thank you in advance for your support now that the summer break is over, and many thanks to the 70 donors who gave blood back in January!
