Lluis Quintana-Murci wins the 2019 Duquesne Award

The René & Andrée Duquesne Award reflects Andrée Duquesne's commitment and support for scientific research. In her will, Mrs. Duquesne named the Institut Pasteur and the Ligue Contre le Cancer – Paris Committee as joint residuary legatees of her estate.

This year's prize was awarded to Lluis Quintana-Murci, Head of the Human Evolutionary Genetics Unit, Research Director at the CNRS, Professor at the Institut Pasteur and recently appointed Professor at the Collège de France for the "Human Genomics and Evolution" Chair. He shares the award with Alain Puisieux, Director of the Cancer Research Center of Lyon since 2011 and Director of the Research Center of the Institut Curie in Paris.

The Duquesne Award was presented on September 9 in the Salons de la Présidence at Paris Descartes University, at a ceremony attended by Stewart Cole, President of the Institut Pasteur, and Jean-Loup Arnaud, Chairman of the Ligue Contre le Cancer – Paris Committee.contre le Cancer.
