Pascale Cossart, winner of the 2018 Duquesne Award

The René & Andrée Duquesne Award reflects the support of Mrs Andrée Duquesne for scientific research. In her will, Mrs Duquesne named the Institut Pasteur and the Comité de Paris de la Ligue Contre le Cancer as joint residuary legatees of her estate.

This year's award goes to Pascale Cossart, Head of the Bacteria-Cell Interactions Unit (Inserm U604, INRA USC2020), Professor at the Institut Pasteur and Permanent Secretary of the French Academy of Sciences. She shares the award with Jessica Zucman-Rossi, Head of INSERM UMR1162 Unit (Universités Paris V, VII et XIII) and "PU-PH classe exceptionnelle" in Oncology at the Hôpital Européen Georges Pompidou.

The Duquesne Prize was awarded on September 10 in the Institut Pasteur’s Salle des Actes, in the presence of Stewart Cole, president of the Institut Pasteur, and Jean-Loup Arnaud, president of the Paris Committee for the Cancer League.
