Anavaj Sakuntabhai, winner of the 2016 Duquesne Award

The René & Andrée Duquesne Award reflects the support of Mrs Andrée Duquesne for scientific research. In her will, Mrs Duquesne named the Institut Pasteur and the Comité de Paris de la Ligue Contre le Cancer as joint residuary legatees of her estate.

This year's winner was Anavaj Sakuntabhai, Head of the Functional Genetics of Infectious Diseases Unit, alongside Patrick Mehlen, head of the "Signalisation de l'échappement tumoral" Unit et the centre Léon Bérard de Lyon and Académicien des Sciences.

The Duquesne Award was presented on September 12.
