Upcoming "Creating your own company" session on September 6

Every month, the Education Department, the MAASCC welcome and support structure for contract researchers and the Research Applications and Industrial Relations Department run an event offering scientists interested in business development the chance to meet a leading figure and entrepreneur in the area of biotechnology. The aim is to encourage those interested in setting up their own company.

This event, entitled "Creating your own company", takes the form of a breakfast meeting on the first Tuesday of each month.

The next session will take place on Tuesday September 6, 2016, from 8.30 to 10.30am in room 28-01-01A of the François Jacob building. The speaker will be Antoine Prestat.

PEP-Therapy was founded in 2014 based on research carried out at Inserm, the Institut Curie and Pierre and Marie Curie University. After it was founded, PEP-Therapy won the national competition for innovative new start-ups run by the French Ministry of Research and Bpifrance, and in April 2015 it completed a first capital increase of €1.3 million.

In early 2016, the European UM Cure 2020 consortium, involving PEP-Therapy and 11 other partners, was granted funding of €6 million over a five-year period under the Horizon 2020 program, for the development of new therapeutic approaches for metastatic uveal melanoma, a rare and aggressive disease.

Come and meet the founder and CEO of this young, innovative start-up that has gone from strength to strength!
