94th issue of the "Lettre de l'Institut Pasteur" out now with an overview of the 2015 accounts

The latest issue of the quarterly newsletter for Institut Pasteur donors - the "Lettre de l'Institut Pasteur" (LIP) - contains a special feature on vaccinology, with a particular focus on new vaccines.

Vaccinology is a discipline that is firmly rooted in Pasteurian tradition. The Institut Pasteur was built on the success of Louis Pasteur's rabies vaccine, and since that first discovery, vaccines for several other diseases have been developed by Institut Pasteur scientists. According to WHO figures, vaccination saves two to three million lives every year. But although great strides have been made, there are still many diseases that can't be prevented by vaccination. To help make further progress in this research area, the Institut Pasteur has set up a Major Federating Program on vaccinology. Institut Pasteur teams are currently studying a number of vaccine candidates, investing considerable time and effort into a research process that will take several years.
