Pasteurdon

11th edition of Pasteurdon

Pasteurdon is the Institut Pasteur's major annual fundraising campaign. Every year, short films and radio messages are broadcast to raise awareness among the public of the research carried out at the Institut Pasteur and to encourage people to give.

Since the very first Pasteurdon 11 years ago, the campaign has enjoyed increasing support every year from its committed media partners. In 2017, 38 media outlets (24 TV channels and 14 radio stations) will be joining forces to broadcast short films and radio spots appealing to the public's generosity so that the Institut Pasteur can pursue its research.

The loyal patron Alexandra Lamy, a tireless supporter of the cause, will be meeting the scientists and finding out about their work.

claudelelouch47.jpg For the first time this year, the Institut Pasteur was honored to welcome on board the famous film director Claude Lelouch, who agreed to use his artistic talents to advance science. The films and radio spots will be broadcast from Thursday October 12 to Sunday October 15, 2017, by our media partners.

These short films feature Alexandra Lamy, together with journalists and presenters from each of the partner channels, alongside scientists on the Institut Pasteur campus, to showcase what goes on behind the scenes in the Institut Pasteur's labs.

Each year, the money raised during Pasteurdon helps to fund the work of nearly 130 research units and to advance scientific knowledge about a number of different diseases. In 2016, the general public gave an impressive €1.7 million to support the Institut Pasteur's scientists.
