A prevention day on musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) linked with the daily task of pipetting is being run on Thursday September 29 by the Occupational Health Department.

The aim of this event is to provide information and training about MSDs and how they can be prevented.

There will be two sessions, one from 10 to 11.30am and one from 2 to 3.30pm.

Each session will include:

  • a presentation of best practices and proper techniques when it comes to pipetting,

  • a demonstration by a physiotherapist of exercises that encourage ergonomic postures while pipetting,

  • a presentation of ergonomic furniture by the Occupational Health Department.

At the end of each session, you will have the opportunity for one-to-one discussions with the physiotherapist. She will answer any questions you may have about your work station and can show you other postures if necessary. The Occupational Health Department team will also be on hand to talk to you about the ergonomics of your work station.
