Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
The recent association agreement signed between Université de Paris and the Institut Pasteur (see the July 3 issue of the newsletter) represents a great opportunity to strengthen and extend an existing partnership rooted in the synergy between the two institutions. The development of closer links will foster the pursuit of ambitious joint research projects. The fields of biology and emerging infectious diseases, vaccinology and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) have been identified as initial priorities for future projects and core programs.
There has already been fruitful collaboration in the area of AMR between the two institutions. Those responsible for research on AMR at the Institut Pasteur and Université of Paris have decided to organize a joint conference in a bid to get to know each other better and work more closely together. The event will be held on November 29 at the Faculty of Medicine, Université de Paris, and November 30, 2021 on the Institut Pasteur campus. It will explore treatment options for infections and antimicrobial resistance for bacteria, fungi and parasites.
The aim of the conference is to share expertise on microorganisms and the multiple dimensions of the subject, exploring work in the field (epidemiology, modeling and evolution), therapeutics and the development of innovative strategies, looking at more fundamental aspects and combining microbiology, clinical research, epidemiology, structural biology, chemistry, physics, IT and mathematics, etc.
The scientific conference will be opened by Christine Clerici, President of Université de Paris, and Stewart Cole, President of the Institut Pasteur. It will include short presentations and will particularly focus on opportunities for dialog as a means of facilitating discussions and networking.
You can submit your contributions for this conference by emailing Émilie Boutet (emilie.boutet@pasteur.fr) and providing a detailed title together with full contact details and a photo of the speaker before October 15. Early career scientists are particularly encouraged to participate in this event.
The event is free but prior registration is required.
