Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
"Dear colleagues,
I am delighted to announce that Antoine Bogaerts took up the post of Director of Philanthropy on August 30, 2021.
Antoine was previously based in New York, serving since 2017 as Director of Development at Doctors of the World/Médecins du Monde (MDM) USA after joining MDM in 2015. He also held the position of International Fundraising Coordinator for the organization's international office. Antoine previously served as Major Gifts Manager at Médecins sans Frontières, in Brussels then London, and had various roles in the European Commission in Brussels and in the Belgian mission to the United Nations (in New York and then Vienna).
Antoine is Belgian and holds several MBAs, from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), the ESAN (Lima, Peru) and the Indian Institute of Management (Calcutta, India).
Fundraising activities, which currently represent more than 35% of the Institut Pasteur's budget, are essential both for the long-term development of the Institut Pasteur and to enable it to achieve its scientific ambitions.
In an increasingly competitive environment, with so many institutions appealing to the public for gifts and donations, it has become vital to boost our donations and sponsorship strategy and to target a more international audience.
Antoine's extensive experience in fundraising, in fields closely related to our own and in an international context, represents a real asset to help us advance our fundraising strategy.
The donations and sponsorship teams and the teams in the Legacies Office, previously affiliated respectively with the Department of Communications and Fundraising and the Department of Financial Affairs, will now report to him.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Jean-François Chambon for his proactive and highly successful approach to the development of our fundraising activities within the Department of Communications and Fundraising since 2015, especially during the COVID-19 crisis. More details about the work and priorities of the new Department of Communications and Scientific Outreach that Jean-François is now leading will be provided in a separate message.
Antoine, who will report directly to me, will become a member of the Senior Management Board and the Executive Board.
Kind regards,"
Professor Stewart Cole
President
