LabEx IBEID Symposium: “Tiny Vectors, Major Threats: A Deep Dive into Tick-Borne Infections”, on October 8, 2026
As part of the implementation of Scientific Priority 2 of the Pasteur 2030 Strategic Plan, ‘Environmental Transitions and Health’, the Laboratory of Excellence in Integrative Biology of Emerging Infectious Diseases (LabEx IBEID) is pleased to invite you to its upcoming symposium entitled “Tiny Vectors, Major Threats: A Deep Dive into Tick-Borne Infections”, on October 8, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Jules Bordet Room.
Ticks are now one of the main vectors of infectious agents in Europe and worldwide, presenting a growing threat to human and animal health. This scientific conference aims to provide an overview of current research into tick-borne diseases. Through two complementary sessions, the conference will address both public health and epidemiological issues – including the impact of climate change on tick population dynamics – and the biological mechanisms underpinning these transmissions, ranging from tick physiology and microbiota to biomarkers of exposure and vaccination strategies.
The LabEx IBEID will have the honour of welcoming Nathalie Boulanger (FR), Jose de la Fuente (SP), Nicholas Ogden (CA) and Joao HF Pedra (US) for four inaugural lectures.
