Scientists from the Institut Pasteur are investigating CyaA, one of the major toxins of Bordetella pertussis. This bacterium is responsible for whooping cough, a disease that is currently on the rise. Acylation is a biochemical reaction in which an acyl chain is added to a molecule. It was already known that the CyaA protein was acylated in Bordetella pertussis

Tribute

Agnes Ullmann, a Professor at the Institut Pasteur and Research Director at the CNRS, passed away on February 25, 2019 at the age of 92. The Institut Pasteur will be paying tribute to the memory of this outstanding woman, a world-renowned scientist known for her work in the field of molecular biology, with a conference on November 27 in the Émile Duclaux lecture hall.

Life outside the lab

The Institut Pasteur sports club is gearing up for the start of the new academic year. Its activities have started on Friday September 13, 2019. This year, the club is running more than 22 activities, which are open to all those working on campus (Institut Pasteur staff, OREX, interns, students, etc.), with no minimum service period. Come along to see what's available and try the activities for yourself from the 13.
