To mark the 41st European Heritage Days, this year on the theme "Heritage of Routes, Networks and Connections," the Institut Pasteur is opening its doors on Saturday and Sunday September 21 and 22, from 2 to 6pm.
Program
• Exhibition "The journey of RNA: from the discovery of mRNA to Katalin Karikó's Nobel Prize": This exhibition presents the extraordinary history of this molecule which today is leading to major scientific and medical breakthroughs.
• Screening of the documentary "Les aventuriers de l'ARN messager" ("The adventurers of messenger RNA" – 2023), attended by director Raphaël Hitier, on Sunday September 22 at 4pm.
• Guided tours – "Pasteur: pushing the boundaries of knowledge." For the first time, the École normale supérieure and the Institut Pasteur are joining forces for a combined tour that looks at the story of the famous scientist Louis Pasteur. This unique tour will be an opportunity to visit the places that played an important role in the life of Louis Pasteur.
• Musical surprises: the cultural and scientific weekend will be interspersed with musical interludes.
The museum team and volunteer PhD students will serve as guides. Entry at 28 rue du Docteur Roux.
Institut Pasteur staff members will have the opportunity to see an exclusive preview of the exhibition "The journey of RNA: from the discovery of mRNA to Katalin Karikó's Nobel Prize," located in the greenhouse, on Friday September 20 during the lunch hour.
The documentary will be screened for staff on October 17 at 1pm, and the exhibition will be presented again on this date on the Institut Pasteur campus, in the entrance hall of the François Jacob building. There will be a reminder in the newsletter in early October.
Registration for the European Heritage Days is compulsory and you will be asked to show ID at the entrance to the Institut Pasteur.
