Make a green start to the academic year!

For the past year, the Institut Pasteur has adopted a circular economy strategy to encourage recycling of used pens. A collection box has been set up at the entrance of the company restaurant for any used writing instruments – pens, felt-tips, mechanical pencils, erasers, markers, highlighters and corrector pens – regardless of brand.

The collected pens will be transferred to the recycling program set up by BIC and turned into outdoor furniture in partnership with the company Plas Eco. The picnic table in front of the cafeteria is one of the very first items to result from this scheme – it was made from 16,300 used writing instruments!

The Quality, Environment and Sustainable Development Department would encourage you to bring along your used pens – and your children's, too! – and place them in the collection box.
