Sara Eyangoh, scientific Director and Head of the mycobacteriology unit of the Centre Pasteur du Cameroun has been officially appointed as a member of the Scientific & Technical Advisory Committee of the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR).
Her two years mandate will start on the 1st of January 2016.
This is the first time that an African researcher from the Institut Pasteur International Network integrates this body.
The 15 international experts of the STAC meet on an annual basis to review the scope, objectives and priorities of TDR. Established in 1975, TDR is hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is co-sponsored by UNICEF, UNDP, the World Bank and WHO. Its objective is to foster an effective global research effort on infectious diseases of poverty and promote the translation of innovation to health impact in disease endemic countries.
