Sign up for the new version of the MOOC « Viral Hepatitis »
The digital education office is pleased to invite you to sign up for the fourth edition of the Viral Hepatitis MOOC, extensively revised and broadcasted from March 10, 2026, to March 9, 2027.
Hepatitis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the liver. Viral Hepatitis are very common worldwide, mainly caused by five different viruses (Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E). Mortality is related mainly to chronicity leading to fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. This occurs mostly for hepatitis B, B-D and C, viruses transmitted by blood and reaching mainly drug users, inmates and men having sex with men. In this MOOC, you will find the latest developments on the intimate structure and pathophysiology of hepatic viruses, as well as the epidemiology and clinical courses of hepatitis, vaccines and treatments.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Summarize the structure and physiopathology of the five different viruses
- Describe the epidemiology and diseases progression
- Discover recent progresses in vaccines and efficient treatments
- Explain why too few people have access to screening and treatments
- Discuss how WHO expects to eradicate viral hepatitis by 2030
