Call for applications: replacement of members of the Institut Pasteur IRB
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) to which the Pasteur Institute is affiliated (IRB-IPP) is composed of multidisciplinary members and must ensure that it includes scientific and non-scientific personnel, both internal and external to the Institute Pasteur.
We are writing to inform you that the IRB-IPP is currently seeking members who speak French fluently from within and outside the Institut Pasteur with expertise in the following areas:
• Infectious diseases
• Virology
• Genetics
• Pediatrics
• Medicine
• Humanities and social sciences, psychology
• Public health
• Law
• Bioethics
• Collection and reuse of data and samples
• Artificial intelligence
• Research project management
• Scientific communication
• “One Health” approach
• Knowledge of resource-limited countries
• Project financing (grants management)
The workload for members is as follows:
- initial training in the ethical evaluation of projects,
- one meeting per month, on Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (in person or via Teams for members who live far away),
- 3-4 projects to evaluate per session,
- an annual one-day seminar (usually in October; to discuss our practices/explore certain aspects in greater depth; it also serves as continuing education).

Applicants should send a detailed CV and a letter of intent explaining why they are interested in joining the Institut Pasteur Institutional Review Board (IRB-IP) by Monday February 16, 2026 at midnight (Paris time), to irb@pasteur.fr, copying in irbchair@pasteur.fr.
Applicants who have submitted eligible applications will be asked to attend an interview with a selection committee in April 2026. A training and induction session will be held so that they can take up their role in September 2026.
