Mosquitoes and ticks are tiny yet formidable creatures that are redrawing the map of infectious disease in France as vectors of diseases like dengue, Lyme disease and chikungunya. These diseases are gaining ground in mainland France, driven in part by climate change and urbanization. Tackling vector-borne diseases is becoming a central public health challenge that requires a better understanding of how vectors and the pathogens they carry are changing, as well as an approach based on predictive surveillance.
