The Institut Pasteur hosted a delegation of research infrastructure directors from Latin America and the Caribbean
The Institut Pasteur was recently selected in connection with the EU-CELAC program of study visits to host a delegation of research infrastructure directors from the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) from September 22 to 24, with the aim of fostering dialog and boosting existing collaboration.
The aim of these visits, funded by the European Commission, is to launch or strengthen cooperation between infrastructures, especially by exchanging best practices on access and governance models, identify scientific themes of mutual interest, and potentially pave the way for more formal cooperation agreements.
The Institut Pasteur already has scientific links with several of the countries represented during this study visit.
The visitors were shown various departments on campus and some of the Institut Pasteur's standout core facilities. They were also told about some of the major initiatives currently under way at the Institut Pasteur, including the Pasteur Pandemic Preparedness Initiative (P3I), the research center on vector-borne diseases (CMTV) and the Center for Vaccinology and Immunotherapy (CVI).
A "speed-dating" session was held at the end of the visit with other Institut Pasteur staff members. The aim was to facilitate the development of new contacts and create the conditions needed for these relationships to be pursued and developed remotely.
By presenting the Institut Pasteur's corporate departments, research infrastructure and existing collaborations, the visit was an opportunity to develop links with new contacts on new themes.
