Modernization

Launch of a first version of the new www.pasteur.fr website on July 23

In just a few days' time, www.pasteur.fr will be getting a brand new look when a first version of the modernized website is launched. This new online space, featuring the Institut Pasteur's new visual identity, has been redesigned to optimize it for the general public, donors and partners. It will be more accessible, with more graphics, and will highlight our collective commitment to research for the benefit of health. Work on the new website has been under way for more than a year, led by the Web Department within the External Communications Division of the Department of Communications and Public Affairs, in close collaboration with the teams in the Information Systems Department and the Department of Philanthropy. The project has been developed in conjunction with representatives from the corporate and scientific departments, with the latter making a key contribution to the content aimed at professional partners and scientists.

A website for the general public
To give visitors to the website a clearer idea of the Institut Pasteur's mission and the scope of its scientific research, the editorial focus of the future website has shifted to directly target the general public. There is an emphasis on our shared scientific journey, presented as a collective undertaking for the benefit of society at large.

A window onto the Institut Pasteur's labs
Website users will soon be able to find out about the Institut Pasteur's research, scientific breakthroughs, public health challenges, and initiatives in France and abroad more easily. The website architecture has been completely redesigned to make the site easier to use. Whether looking for information about the emergence of a disease, preparing for long-distance travel, keeping up with the latest scientific discoveries or finding out how to support our work, visitors can look forward to a more enjoyable browsing experience and clearer information.

A first step
The upcoming website launch is a first key step in a broader process to modernize the Institut Pasteur's public-facing communications. The website is set to be gradually updated and enhanced with the addition of new features that help bridge the gap between scientific rigor and public curiosity. It will continue to be developed with new content and new features over the coming weeks and months. The summer period will be a useful opportunity to improve this initial version and iron out any wrinkles before pursuing the modernization process in September.

Thanks to you all
The upcoming launch would not have been possible without a major effort from all staff. The Department of Communications and Public Affairs, the Information Systems Department and the Department of Philanthropy, all closely involved in the pasteur.fr modernization project, would like to express their thanks to all the individuals and departments who have contributed to the overhaul, those who feed the site on a daily basis, and all those who will contribute to future content. It is a real team effort.
