Did you know? 140 years ago, an art festival in aid of the creation of the Institut Pasteur was held at the Trocadéro Palace

On May 11, 1886, exactly 140 years ago, a festival was held in the Trocadéro Palace to raise funds for the creation of the Institut Pasteur following the international appeal launched by the French Academy of Sciences on March 14, 1886. This event, organized by the "Scientia" conference, was sponsored by some of the most illustrious artists of the time, including Alexandre Dumas (1802-1870), Charles Gounod (1818-1893) and Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921).
