EarInFlame project teams selected in the first call for collaborative research proposals in auditory health launched by the reConnect Institute
The EarInFlame project, led by two teams from the reConnect Institute (part of the Hearing Institute) and the Institut Pasteur in Paris, was selected following the first call for research proposals launched by the reConnect Institute in November 2024. With €80,000 in earmarked funding over two years, the aim of the first edition of the reConnect calls for proposals is to promote innovative research in the field of auditory health, especially related to immunity and/or infection. The EarInFlame project teams will explore how inflammation damages the inner ear and leads to hearing loss. Their findings will contribute to the development of novel therapies to prevent or slow auditory damage, with the aim of minimizing the medical and social consequences of hearing loss.
