A new call to create junior research groups at the Institut Pasteur

Following last year’s call, which led to the creation of four groups due to arrive on our campus throughout 2026, the Institut Pasteur is launching a call for applications dedicated to new junior research groups.

This year, the scope of the call focuses on infectious diseases, host-microbe interactions, and/or vaccines. Applicants must demonstrate the excellence of their scientific project through cutting-edge transdisciplinary approaches. Applications from researchers developing innovative artificial intelligence methodologies to advance these specific areas of biology and health sciences will be given special consideration.

Eligible candidates typically have between 2 to 12 years of post-PhD experience.

For primary caretakers, eligibility is extended to 14-16 years post-PhD.

Further information about the call

Submissions are open until February 9, 2026.

After evaluation of the application files, the following stage of selection process will take place between March 30 and April 3, and will include a seminar of their research open to the entire campus community, and a chalk talk about future projects, leading to a final list of candidates who will then be interviewed by  the Scientific Council on June 2 and 3, 2026

You are all encouraged to share this great opportunity with their professional networks to attract inspiring candidates and enrich our scientific community.
