Save the date: don't miss the screening of the documentary "Traquer l'invisible. Nos chercheurs face à la menace mondiale des virus et des bactéries" on December 17, attended by Marina Carrère d'Encausse and the production team

The Department of Communications and Public Affairs and its Press Office are delighted to invite you to a screening of the documentary "Traquer l'invisible. Nos chercheurs face à la menace mondiale des virus et des bactéries" (Hunting invisible dangers – our scientists tackling the global threat of viruses and bacteria).

The screening (64 minutes) will take place on Wednesday December 17 at 12 noon, in the CIS auditorium, together with the production team and representatives from France Télévisions: 
 

  • Marina Carrère d'Encausse, the journalist seen in the documentary 
     
  • Magali Cotard, director of the documentary, from 17 Juin Média  
     
  • Gaëlle Chauvin, director of programs at 17 Juin Média
     
  • Philippe Broussaud, representative of news programs for France Télévisions

The scientists and their teams that were involved in the documentary will also be in attendance to share their experience of the shoot. 

We hope that lots of you will come along to the CIS auditorium, decked out as a cinema for the occasion, to see the documentary and the fresh angle it offers on the work of the Institut Pasteur's scientists. Their aim, as always, is to develop new cancer treatments, find innovative solutions to antibiotic resistance, detect disease outbreaks and tackle neurodegenerative diseases.

A selection of snacks will be available to add to the movie experience! 

The documentary by the numbers 

Filming: 
•    5 days of filming on the Paris campus 
•    3 days of filming in French Guiana 
•    14 laboratories or Institut Pasteur premises visited

Distribution:
•    First broadcast on November 25 at 9pm on France 5 
•    670,000 viewers, representing 3.5% of the audience share, on November 25 
•    France 5 was the 5th most watched national channel on November 25  
•    Teaser viewed more than 310,000 times on Instagram
