Video of the Art & Science lecture "The superpowers of the microbes living within us," with Yasmine Belkaid and Hervé Di Rosa

On Tuesday May 5, in a packed Émile Duclaux lecture hall, the Institut Pasteur held the second lecture in the "Art & Science" series, organized in connection with Scientific Priority 1 of the Pasteur 2030 Strategic Plan, "Infectious disease threats," and open to the general public.
For this latest lecture, Yasmine Belkaid, President of the Institut Pasteur and an internationally renowned immunologist, and leading contemporary artist Hervé Di Rosa engaged in a unique dialog between science and artistic creation.
The lecture, entitled "The superpowers of the microbes living within us," was an opportunity to explore the crucial role played by the microbiome in our health. Yasmine Belkaid discussed the interactions between microbes, the immune system and organs, and explained how what we eat and our environment affect these invisible balances within our body.

As she was speaking, Hervé Di Rosa produced art in real time, shown on screen for the audience, offering a subtle visual interpretation of this microscopic world.

The lecture was warmly appreciated by the audience and was followed by a discussion session with the participants, continuing the exploration of the major scientific and social challenges related to the microbiome.
