20th anniversary of Pasteurdon, the Institut Pasteur unites 20 ambassador cities all over France

Every year since 2007, Pasteurdon has rallied millions of French people behind one cause: supporting the biomedical research conducted by Institut Pasteur scientists. For this anniversary edition supported by Institut Pasteur patrons Kad Merad and Julia Vignali, three major health challenges will be showcased: the fight against cancer, the response to emerging infectious diseases and understanding neurological and neurodevelopmental diseases.

These topics concern millions of people in France and worldwide and are central to the research conducted daily by the Institut Pasteur's researchers.
To mark this anniversary, the Institut Pasteur is launching the "Ambassador Cities" program: committed municipalities will be publicizing the Pasteurdon campaign and appeal to the generosity of the public to ramp up engagement nationwide. The aim is to unite 20 cities for the 20th anniversary of Pasteurdon.

20 towns and cities responded to the call:
Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Le Havre, Orléans, Pau, Avignon, Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Antibes, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Antony, Maisons-Alfort, Roanne, Dole, Arbois, Arcachon, Paris 15th, Dinan, Pont-Audemer, Lampaul-Plouarzel and Hallencourt.

This network embodies France's diversity and bears a strong message: research is the concern of everyone, everywhere.

"I am deeply touched by the support of our 20 ambassador cities. This movement is telling: research is not just experienced in laboratories. It concerns each and every citizen in every part of the country. Today, with the Ambassador Cities program, elected representatives will be standing side by side with scientists and society at large to relay the message: For every life, science takes action (translated from the registered French tagline "Pour chaque vie, la science agit."). Throughout France and beyond our borders, donors are stepping up support for research, and science and public generosity are coming together; this unity has empowered Pasteurdon for the past 20 years and will help us to address the major challenges for tomorrow’s health."
