October is approaching, and as every year, preparations are gathering pace for the institute's major annual awareness-raising and fundraising campaign: Pasteurdon. This year, we will launch the campaign on Wednesday, October 8, at noon, in the heart of our campus, with a ceremony to present the operation in the presence of our ambassadors, journalists, presenters, media representatives supporting the campaign, and all the Pasteur teams who have prepared this edition. You are all, of course, invited to this important event. Keep an eye on your inbox and your calendar, as an invitation will soon be sent out to kick off the campaign together! 

The Institut Pasteur opens its doors to the public

This year, we'll be opening up the institute to the public from 2pm for a special chance to get involved and learn new things through various activities such as laboratory tours, fun and educational workshops, video screenings, and a big quiz at the end of the afternoon. This interactive format, designed for families and children, is essential for fostering essential dialog between the public and scientists. This is imperative in a context where scientific rationality is constantly being questioned. It is also an opportunity for us, as Pasteurians, to raise public awareness of the importance of donations in supporting and developing our research.

Open days like this one are, of course, also aimed at Institut Pasteur employees and their families. A registration link is reserved for Pasteurians, subject to availability, with 150 places reserved for you and your families.

Get involved in Pasteurdon and support research

I know that many of you have responded by volunteering to welcome the public, and I sincerely thank you for that. You can still sign up to volunteer, so please don't hesitate to come and join us to showcase the diversity and strength of the community that drives Pasteurian science. Your involvement is essential to the success of this initiative, and I know that Pasteurian values will be promoted during these events.

To give substance to and amplify this mobilization online, the Communications and Public Affairs Department is offering a guide to managing your LinkedIn account dedicated to promoting Pasteurdon.  You can find this guide and instructions for implementation in tomorrow's BIP. For my part, I will be sharing my own testimony on my LinkedIn account so that, together, we can promote research and show how important it is to take it beyond our walls.  

Finally, I know that some of you have planned to participate in other events, particularly sporting events, to support this collective mobilization. This is another form of commitment that illustrates Pasteurian generosity! 

With this momentum and collective strength, let's work together to make the 19th edition of Pasteurdon a success and meet up on October 8 for the launch at 11:45am!
