Video of the "Neuroscience and altered states of consciousness" event now available
On March 21, in connection with Brain Awareness Week, the Emile Duclaux lecture hall hosted a fascinating lecture and debate organized by the Institut Pasteur's Department of Neuroscience.
This year's topic was "Are we really unconscious when asleep or under anesthesia?"
At the event, Claire Sergent, Thomas Andrillon and Tarek Sharshar shared their complementary expertise in exploring the brain mechanisms at work during altered states of consciousness. Their discussions touched on sleep, anesthesia and impaired consciousness, shedding light on what neuroscience can teach us about these fascinating states – and their implications for medicine and our understanding of the brain.
