End of the 2025 "Biology for non-biologists" (BNB) internal training course

Exploring the basics of biology, learning about the topics under study at the Institut Pasteur and gaining an insight into its scientific research: the 2025 edition of the "Biology for non-biologists" (BNB) internal training course came to an end on December 11.

During November and December, 75 support staff members completed the course, which included five days of training with one session a week. Led by around 40 scientists and experts from campus, the course gives participants an insight into the operation and working environment of laboratories, different scientific professions, and the Institut Pasteur's scientific priorities. Since the program was launched in 2017, more than 500 Institut Pasteur staff have completed the training.

The BNB program encourages dialog between support staff and scientific teams, strengthens interdisciplinarity and helps boost day-to-day collaboration between team members. It is aimed at non-scientists in a variety of professions – finance, human resources, legal affairs, logistics, CSR, communications and administrative roles –, and it makes a significant contribution to the collective dynamic on campus.

Well done to all the participants for completing the course, and many thanks to the speakers for contributing to this opportunity for interprofessional learning and dialog.

The next BNB course will be held in spring 2027.
