Ten years after it was launched, the BNB course continues to be just as popular with staff on campus. It has already been completed by more than 500 Institut Pasteur employees. You can now register for the upcoming sessions, which will take place from January to March 2027.

Understanding the Institut Pasteur's scientific environment
Are you a support staff member or research unit assistant? Are you interested in learning more about the research topics of the Institut Pasteur's scientists and the way laboratories work?
The Biology for Non-Biologists (BNB) course offers an introduction to biology and the broad research areas covered at the Institut Pasteur, as well as an overview of how laboratories work and different scientific professions.
The aim is to give you a better understanding of the Institut Pasteur's scientific priorities and the environment you are working in. The course also provides a unique opportunity for dialog and discussions with scientists and other research support staff.

An approach based on peer-to-peer learning
One thing that makes the BNB course unique and particularly effective is its format. It is led by around 40 of the Institut Pasteur's scientists and experts and involves peer-to-peer learning, discussions and laboratory visits.
The BNB course was set up in 2017 and will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2027. Since it was launched, more than 500 Institut Pasteur staff from different backgrounds, working in different roles, have completed it.

2027 sessions – practical details
The course takes place over five days, with one day of training per week.
Two sessions will be held between January and March 2027:
•    A Tuesday session (five days: January 26, February 2, February 23, March 2 and March 9) 
•    A Thursday session (five days: January 28, February 4, February 25, March 4 and March 11)

There are still some spaces available. To make sure we have equal numbers for the two sessions, we would ask you to sign up for the Thursday session if possible.
