Upcoming training courses: "Version control with Git" and "Managing your research data day-to-day"
Version control with Git on October 20th, 2026 (9:30am to 12pm and 1 to 5pm)
Git is a free and open source distributed version control system designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed and efficiency.
Main objective: Understanding the basic git management model and learning how to use it for managing your own projects.
The training addresses the following subjects:
Working with local and remote repositories.
Creating and managing branches.
Sharing your repository on the internal GitLab platform and code collaboration.
The training is for anyone who would like to learn the basics of git, and it will be given in English.
The training will take place at the Institut Pasteur in person from 9:30am to 5pm with a lunch break from 12pm to 1pm.

Registration is only open to Institut Pasteur staff, and the number of participants is limited.
If the training is full, you will be added to the waiting list for a later session.
Managing your research data day-to-day
Essential knowledge to navigate the day-to-day management of your research data: improve collaboration, prevent data loss, and make it easier to publish and reuse your results.
Organize your data by designing a consistent file directory structure
Select a documentation method suited to the nature of your data
Choose a storage solution adapted to the specifics of your data
Identify the key questions to ask before data collection
Structure your tabular data to make it usable and reusable
This Training is aimed at anyone wishing to learn the basics of research data management.
It will take place as a one-day face-to-face session at the Institut Pasteur and will be conducted in French.
