New decision and internal memos

• Replacement of the Quality, Environment and Sustainable Development Department

Following the departure of Marie Laure Chao, Head of the Quality, Environment and Sustainable Development Department, on January 31, it has initially been decided not to recruit a new staff member and instead to empower those staff with relevant skills.

As from February 1, 2021, the Quality, Environment and Sustainable Development Department will be replaced by the following three departments:

- The Waste, Sterilization and Premises Maintenance Department. Interim head: Abokouo Zago

- The Quality Department. Interim head: Maïmouna Seye

- The Sustainable Development Department. Interim head: Hélène da Conceiçao

These three departments will be affiliated with the Technical Resources and Environment Department. The situation will be reviewed at the end of 2021 to confirm this new organizational setup.

• Appointment of the Acting Director of the Department of Developmental and Stem Cell Biology

Laure Bally-Cuif has been appointed as Acting Director of the Department of Developmental and Stem Cell Biology (024100) as from February 1, 2021.

• Extension of the term of three laboratories by special decision

Two laboratories set up several years ago may have their term extended, by way of exception to the term laid down in point 2 of internal memo 0117, on the basis of the scientific assessment due to be held as part of the overall assessment of the department with which they are affiliated. These are the Pathogenesis of Bacterial Anaerobes laboratory led by Bruno Dupuy (joint laboratory with Université de Paris) and the Mouse Genetics laboratory led by Xavier Montagutelli. In application of the agreement with the University of São Paolo, the Trypanosomatids Infectious Processes laboratory led by Paola Minoprio is also being maintained as an international laboratory (with no scientific activities on campus).

• New organization of management control activities

The organization of management control activities currently carried out by the Budget and Management Control Department (BCG-030306E) and the Entity Financial Management Department (GFE-030317E) is changing to meet growing demands in terms of the leadership of these activities. On January 1, 2021, the Budget and Management Control Department (030306E) became the Management and Institutional Leadership and Support (GPIS) Department, led by Marie-Pierre Gratius.
The Entity Financial Management Department (030317E) became the Management and Leadership of Mission Areas (GPMS) Department, led on an interim basis by Françoise Perriolat until the arrival of Sandra Thomazo on March 8, 2021.
