New scanning electron microscope in the UBI UTechS

The Ultrastructural BioImaging (UBI) UTechS is one of the Institut Pasteur's technological platforms. The UBI platform offers a wide range of sample preparation and imaging techniques. It particularly works on characterizing pathogens and on pathogen-host interactions.

A team of 13 microscopy specialists can help you decide on the best method to use to answer your scientific questions. The UBI platform currently has three transmission electron microscopes (TEMs) for intracellular observations and visualizing isolated particles, and one dual-beam microscope (FIB-SEM) for 3D analysis. A new next-generation scanning electron microscope to observe the morphology of biological samples has recently been installed.

This scanning microscope – JEOL-IT700HR – is fitted with different detectors for surface analysis and immunolocalization using colloidal gold particles. The microscope is available for the entire scientific community.

New projects can be submitted online via PPMS.
