Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
A section entitled "Les Jardins de Louis" has been set up on campus as part of the Social and Economic Committee (CSE).
Thanks to the section's efforts, several gardens and green areas have been created over the entire Institut Pasteur campus.
What is the "Les Jardins de Louis" section?
The "Les Jardins de Louis" section, which has around 30 members:
- converts and allocates spaces (flowerbeds, vegetable and herb gardens, etc.)
- supports and supervises volunteers
- maintains a seed library for use by volunteers
- provides a forum for discussion to address needs and answer questions about the section
For next year, the section is aiming to organize various workshops, with and/or without external experts, on topics such as planting seeds, producing cuttings, creating and tending a vegetable garden, setting up a worm composting bin, creating an organic irrigation system, etc.
How the association works and manages green spaces
With the help of Institut Pasteur service provider "Espace vert" and the campus planning services, the section has been provided with various areas on campus and with basic garden equipment (soil and tools).
These areas are available for members of the section.
The manager of each plot buys or produces his/her own plants (no F1 seeds). The work carried out by the section is not considered as working time.
In exchange, produce from the gardens – lettuce, flowers, strawberries, herbs, etc. – belongs to the gardener.
How to contact the section
