Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
Key points:
• Working arrangements on campus from September 1:
-> For scientific staff: all staff may work on campus every day if necessary, although home working is encouraged where at all possible. The same applies for operational technical support roles on site.
-> For administrative support roles: 2 to 4 days on site each week (2 days mandatory), in agreement with line managers.
• Reminder that hygiene and distancing measures must be observed and masks must be worn at all times in buildings and closed spaces everywhere on campus.
• Face-to-face meetings may be held as long as the occupancy limits indicated on meeting room doors are observed.
As we look ahead to the resumption of activities after the summer break, the health situation related to the COVID-19 epidemic unfortunately remains a cause for concern. Infection numbers are still high, although they seem to be stabilizing, and the hospital system remains under pressure in some regions.
Given the uncertainty as to what impact the resumption of work and school and the level of vaccination will have on a possible resurgence in the epidemic over the coming weeks, the PBRP (Progressive Business Resumption Plan) Committee is announcing various measures, mainly regarding working arrangements and compliance with hygiene and distancing measures, that will be applicable from September 1 on all sites on rue du Docteur Roux and rue de Charenton:
1. Working arrangements for Institut Pasteur staff
To facilitate the progressive resumption of work for all Institut Pasteur staff while ensuring their safety, the following measures have been decided in terms of working arrangements on campus until October 31, 2021:
• Implementation of the new agreement on working from home has been postponed until November 1;
• Presence on campus:
o All scientific staff may work on campus every day if necessary, although home working is encouraged where possible, in agreement with line managers. The same applies for operational technical support roles on site;
o Those in administrative support roles should spend 2 to 4 days on site each week (2 days mandatory), in agreement with line managers.
2. Strict compliance with hygiene and distancing measures
Since the Delta variant is more transmissible, staff are asked to continue to maintain strict compliance with hygiene and distancing measures on campus:
• Masks must be worn in buildings and closed spaces;
• Regular hand washing must be observed;
• Distancing rules apply in buildings, the company restaurant and everywhere on campus;
• Premises should be aired and ventilated on a regular basis.
We would remind you that while vaccination offers protection from severe forms of COVID-19 and reduces the transmissibility of the virus, it does not preclude the need for strict compliance with hygiene and distancing measures to protect ourselves and those around us.
3. Other key measures
• Meetings and seminars may be organized up to the maximum occupancy limits displayed in each room or indicated when booking lecture halls. These limits must be strictly adhered to, as must all hygiene and distancing measures;
• Social gatherings involving staff on campus in a professional context may be organized provided that hygiene measures are strictly complied with: masks must be worn, rooms aired/ventilated and distancing rules observed. We would recommend organizing any social gatherings outdoors and not exceeding 25 participants;
• Details of the procedures that will be used to verify compliance with compulsory vaccination (Medical Center, Occupational Health Department and conferences) or the health pass for those Institut Pasteur staff affected by the government requirements will be provided next week.
For information about any other measures not covered in this initial memo, we would advise you to consult the summary table at the following link (lien à ajouter), which will be updated on a regular basis.
The PBRP Committee will continue to keep a close eye on the developing health situation and the government measures, and it reserves the right to amend the measures in force at the Institut Pasteur accordingly.
A warm welcome back to you all after the summer break.
The BCP/PBRP Committee
PS: We would remind you that the TousAntiCovid app can be activated during working hours, as indicated in the national protocol to ensure the health and safety of workers published on September 1.
