Low number of COVID-19 cases in Laos: seroprevalence study to confirm the figures

In 2020, as several countries worldwide were struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic and experiencing a high number of positive cases, the situation in Laos was completely different, with just a few cases reported in the country. Is this a sign that the virus was not circulating actively, or that the surveillance system was inadequate? A seroprevalence study has been conducted by the Institut Pasteur du Laos in collaboration with the Institut Pasteur in Paris to shed light on the question.
