Scientists working at the Pasteur-USP scientific platform (SPPU) in Brazil conducted a study in 38 patients with a mild form of COVID-19 whose infections were monitored. The scientists revealed in Frontiers in Medicine that 8% of the patients continued to test positive for coronavirus up to at least 200 days after the onset of symptoms. This phenomenon had previously only been observed in immunocompromised individuals or those with comorbidities.
