Senegal: Institut Pasteur de Dakar and CEPI join forces to accelerate COVID-19 vaccine production in Africa

The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and the Institut Pasteur de Dakar (IPD) have signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize the partnership between the two organizations. The aim is to advance the IPD's MADIBA project, which will establish a regional vaccine manufacturing facility for the COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccines in Dakar, Senegal. In its initial phase, the IPD's new modular facility will produce up to 300 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine each year for use in Africa.
