Upcoming session of the Workshops at the Center for Translational Science on May 30

The Workshops at the Center for Translational Science are bimonthly two-hour events at which expert speakers are invited to give presentations suitable for both scientists and non-scientists on topical issues related to clinical research.

Each session has been followed by a round table featuring a number of other guests in addition to the main speaker, who are invited to share their experiences on the topic under discussion.

The next session will take place on Tuesday May 30 from 9.30 to 11.30am in the François Jacob auditorium, on the subject "The role of cluster randomized trials in research on intervention in humans". The speaker will be Jean-Christophe Thalabard, from Paris Descartes University. The presentation will be in French.

Improving medical practices, especially in the area of infectious disease prevention, involves testing procedures on populations in which the unit of reference is a group of individuals rather than a single individual. Use of this approach is becoming increasingly widespread in the development of evidence-based medicine. What are the specific characteristics and drawbacks of cluster randomized trials in research on intervention in humans?

In view of campus security procedures, we would remind you that registration is required and that you must sign in at the reception desk by 9.25am if you are coming with external visitors.
