Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
Dans le cadre de futurs travaux importants de restauration et du réaménagement du bâtiment historique, le musée Pasteur va déménager l’ensemble de ses collections.
In anticipation of the upcoming large-scale restoration and renovation works in the Institut Pasteur's historical building, the Pasteur Museum will be moving all its collections.
Preparations for the move will involve closing the museum so that a collection review can be carried out over a period of several months.
From November 2, the museum and the Salle des Actes will no longer be accessible for several years.
For anyone interested, the museum teams can offer virtual tours led by information and digital outreach specialist Chantal Pflieger.
- These virtual tours can either be carried out in person – this requires booking a meeting room with a projector and bringing a computer;
- or via Teams.
If you have any questions about the tours, to book a time slot or access the shop, please email chantal.pflieger@pasteur.fr.
During this period, the museum's teams will continue their work, and several loans are under way or planned:
• A loan is under way with the French National Archives in connection with the official Pasteur 2022 exhibition "Face aux épidémies: de la Peste noire à nos jours" (Tackling epidemics: from the Black Death to the present day), which began on October 12 and will run until February 6, 2023 in the museum at the National Archives.
Several artifacts have been included in this exhibition (Alexandre Yersin's diary, a Pasteur-Chamberland filter, a bust of Louis Pasteur, etc.)
• The museum's teams are also preparing to loan the enamel and silver gilt document case by David Andersen, after a model by Johan Lund, that was given to Louis Pasteur in 1892 by the Norwegian Medical Association. The case will be displayed as part of the exhibition "Des Vikings et des Normands," organized and presented by and at the Normandy Museum in Caen from April 1, 2023 to October 1, 2023.
Finally, as well as the tasks of managing collections, managing document and image requests and leading virtual tours, restoration work is also planned for the period during which the museum will be closed.
