Regulatory update on eliminating hazardous waste – part 4: New IT platform for chemical waste management

A new chemical risk management tool named PasteurChem is now available to all pasteurians. This tool, managed by the Risk Prevention Department, will enable everyone to learn about the dangers of chemicals in order to handle them safely. PasteurChem will help you:

  • access various documents such as the Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and good lab practice sheets (French and English versions).

  • easily identify chemical’s hazards (CMR, toxic, SVHC* ...).

  • check incompatible chemicals.

  • check the types of storage cabinets adapted to your chemicals.

  • choose the waste channel adapted to their disposal (the software takes into account the new channels recently set up)

Beyond these practical aspects, this tool also enables the Institut Pasteur to meet the requirements of the european regulation REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization of CHemicals) **

You can also access it via WebCampus in "My Services Portal" or in "Infos pratiques / Applications et formulaires informatiques à votre disposition".

An online tutorial is also available to guide you through the tool. You can find links in "My Services Portal" and in "Applications et formulaires informatiques à votre disposition".

An information campaign carried out by the Risk Prevention Department will allow you to discover PasteurChem.

  • in front of the company restaurant on 13th, 15th  and 16th June at lunchtime

  • in workshops:

- in the building "The 25" on June 20th, June 29th and July 04th (10 am to 1 pm)
- in the François Jacob Atrium on June 22nd, June 27th and July 5th (10am to 1pm)
